Bill Hicks, the founder and managing director of Newbury-based MDA, has been headhunted and recruited by Surrey based Flipside Group to launch and lead an integrated agency based in Newbury. The existing business of Marketing and Design Associates (MDA) will be merged into the Flipside Group.
According to Mr Hicks (pictured), the new venture will bring a raft of much needed and contemporary expertise and resources to business and enterprise along the M3 and M4 corridors.
He said: "The introduction of marketing channels demand an exponentially increasing bandwidth of skills and understanding. Any business looking to survive and thrive in today's ultra-competitive environment needs to evaluate the benefits of new digital communications technologies and how they can be integrated into established activity such as graphic design, print and exhibitions.
"Flipside is a 50-strong business with a broad-based portfolio of clients, and a creative and strategic way of thinking that plans for and covers all relevant channels with a strong emphasis on the web and digital offerings. The re-branded agency will fill a huge gap in the market in this area, allowing local businesses of all sizes to be more competitive in what looks like becoming a difficult economy for everybody."
Flipside Group Newbury opened its doors last Thursday and initially be based at the London Road offices of MDA. The clients and staff of MDA will be supported by the new business which plans to have an ‘open day' for existing and potential new clients later in the month.
