NWN Group website devoted to business
28th April 2008
The Newbury Weekly News Group has launched a new website devoted to local business. newburybusinesstoday is the latest in a roll-out of websites powered by the Newbury Weekly News Group and produced from its West Berkshire newsroom.
Its launch was celebrated today (Monday, April 28) with Champagne Breakfast for business and community leaders at Newspaper House, the Group’s headquarters, in Faraday Road, Newbury. The guests were welcomed by NWN Group chairman Jeremy Willis, managing director Adrian Martin and senior group staff.
The emphasis is very much on local for newburybusinesstoday. The new website features business news updates throughout the working week, columns and advice by local and regional experts, stock market commentary, share prices and business networking opportunities.
To support its commercial community locally, the website has an area devoted to West Berkshire’s Business Action Group – a partnership of agencies which includes the police, local authority and Chamber of Commerce, together with individual businesses and retailers.
The Action Group has funded its own police community support officer, one of the first in the country, who is entirely focused on the business community, and the website offers a valuable contact point between him and the local business community. newburybusinesstoday has commercial areas well supported by advertisers, including a searchable trades and business services directory, featured business profiles and areas devoted to commercial property and vehicles.
The new website runs alongside the publisher’s successful and established business publication in print – also named Newbury Business Today – which is distributed free with the flagship newspaper, the Newbury Weekly News, each month.
newburybusinesstoday joins the growing stable of print and online publications offered by the Newbury publisher, among them the multi award-winning daily news website newburytoday, together with websites devoted to property (livinginwestberkshire), motoring (motoringinwestberkshire), recruitment and job search (jobsthamesvalley and matchyourcv) and family announcements (nwnannouncements).
The business website was designed on behalf of the Newbury Weekly News Group by Atomic Media, of Nottingham.
