‘TWITTERERS’ can now keep up-to-date with their local bus service in West Berkshire.

Reading Transport has set up its own official Twitter site, providing all the latest news from its website with updates on its services.

The online social networking service is already proving popular with a continuous stream of followers, according to Reading Transport’s marketing and public relations manager, Nikki Honer.

She said: “Twitter is assisting with directing more traffic to our website which is excellent news and with the current weather conditions affecting buses by the hour it is an important method of keeping customers informed.

“Even when weather conditions improve, the link for Tweeters who use the buses will still be of benefit.”

She added that Reading Transport will monitor its Twitter account regularly for customer comments and will try and respond to requests that can be managed from the website.
