Trade Counter opens is Bone Lane
SCREWFIX creates 20 new Newbury jobs Screwfix, the UK’s leading mail order and online supplier of screws, tools, fixings and accessories to the trade and DIY enthusiasts, has come to Newbury. The official opening ceremony took place at Bone Lane, Newbury and was carried out by Steven Staig, Trade Counter manager, who cut the ribbon with Nicola McAvoy, who is currently renovating a house. By way of thanks, she received a Worx Lightlum Drive 36V Drill and a bottle of Champagne, who said: “I have been a Screwfix customer for several years and have never had any problems. In fact, I have used the recommend a friend scheme with a number of my friends. This is the first time that I have used a Trade Counter and I am very impressed with the service.”Mr Staig said: "The opening of this new Trade Counter has created 20 jobs and we are delighted with the way in which our team has worked together to make the opening such a success. Bone Lane is ideally placed for our customers and convenient for our personnel, and we are sure that this branch will bring a new level of service to customers in the Newbury area. We would like to thank everyone for their interest over the weekend and look forward to welcoming them again."Already well known for its next day delivery of high quality, low cost items, Screwfix has chosen Newbury as the latest development area for this immediate “select and collect” service. The result of extensive customer research, the Trade Counter provides yet another channel by which customers can quickly and easily obtain a wide variety of products at low trade prices. Customers simply select their items from a catalogue, place their order and then collect the goods. All visitors to the Trade Counter can enter a free prize draw to win £100 worth of Screwfix vouchers. The draw will close on 6 April, 2008 and the winner will be notified by 21 April, 2008.
