THOMAS Eggar law firm, is aiming to be "the South's leading law firm" according to two of its partners, Garrath Reayer and Simon Fenton.
The firm, which has recently taken over the Pennington's Newbury office, has great aims of expansion and establishing a strong relationship with the local community.
On the changes from Penningtons to Thomas Eggar, Mr Reayer, said: "The Newbury office is as it was, it is the same building with 99.9 per cent of the same people.
"We are offering the same services but there is better support from the other offices."
Mr Fenton said that it is like having one firm with five branches rather then five separate firms.
The Kings Road West firm, provides legal services to both commercial organisations and private individuals.
Managing Partner Tony Edwards honoured all of Penningtons' outstanding contractual agreements, including taking over grant agreements.
This means that the current trainees kept their jobs and also included the recruitment of six others as part of the 84-strong force in Newbury.
The company also now has offices in Chichester, Gatwick, London and Worthing and will also be opening an office in Southampton in late summer.
The team at Newbury has just been instructed in regards to the acquisition of ten ATR 72-500 Aircrafts by a top African airline.
The overall deal value is in the region of £145m.
On top of this, Thomas Eggar's aviation unit has provided leading Nigerian airline Arik Air with consultation and advice on the $100m acquisition of two new Boeing 737-700 Aircraft for its fleet.
In the last three months of the calendar year, Thomas Eggar advised The Glanmore Property Fund Ltd on its acquisition of Fleet Walk Shopping Centre in Torquay for £35m.
This followed hot on the heels of the fund's purchase of Green Lanes Shopping Centre in Barnstaple for £60m.
The firm has gained rather than lost any clients since the switch and as Mr Fenton said: "Most people follow the man rather than the firm."
