Proximity Communications plc, a leading provider of ICT services and solutions, has reported the strongest financial year of performance to date, since the company was established following a merger between Applinet plc and Unified Group Limited, in 2009.
For the year end 2011, the company reports a turnover result of over £10m which represents an organic growth rate of 22 per cent over 2010, with over 40 per cent from recurring revenues for that period.
2011 has been a year of restructure and growth for the company following the key appointments of Stuart Legg as Sales and marketing director, Peter Francis as chief finance officer, and a number of other sales, engineering and customer support focused roles across the organisation.
Proximity has further focused activity on consolidating vendor relations and accreditations, and adapting the services and solutions offered to specifically meet client’s business challenges, processes and culture.
Darren Boyce, the chief executive Proximity Communications. said: “The quality of our delivery has allowed us to maintain our profitability and enabled better management control over our overheads which has delivered £0.8m of operating profits. This has allowed Proximity to expand the business with new product propositions and continually invest in new skilled employees for the business requirement.
It is the belief of the board that Proximity will continue to match the investment in the people in line with the growth performance of the business.
“Proximity Communications remains debt free and has closed the year with over £2m in cash. Proximity’s strong business model has generated positive cash flows and our clients can be confident in continuing with the successful relationships that we value.”
The profits announcement follows a further recent recruitment drive which saw the Operations Team expand by seven people, with roles spanning across project management, customer service and engineering and support responsibilities.
In total, Proximity has employed 12 new staff since the beginning of 2012 and also recently opened an office in Burton, near Birmingham, to
provide regional sales and support.
