A BUSINESS revolution is taking place – and two Newbury women are at the heart of it.
Occasional Assistants is a new website dedicated to providing a comprehensive list of local professionals providing their services on an ad hoc basis.
Directors Sarah Bosley, aged 32, and Beckie Whitear, aged 31, believe their new venture is the perfect tool for anyone trying to get back into work and for small businesses, entrepreneurs and private individuals struggling to keep a check on their finances in the current economic climate.
“We both have small children and wanted to start up a business that would fit in around them, so we decided to offer our services – myself as a copywriter and Beckie as a PA and event co-ordinator – on an ad hoc basis,” said Mrs Bosley.
“We knew that this way of working would also be useful to small businesses as it means they do not have to worry about the overheads associated with permanent recruitment or the new regulations affecting temporary staff.”
The women quickly realised that they could also help encourage other people get back to work in the profession they love and began offering membership packages to the Occasional Assistants’ brand.
“To be able to provide companies with reliable staff on a flexible basis and to encourage experienced professionals to return to work in a way that suits their individual situation is truly rewarding,” added Ms Whitear.
“It’s a win-win situation and we are really excited to be building both our membership and our client base.”
Not only can prospective clients avoid the business costs of permanent recruitment by using Occasional Assistants, they can also access a full biography of each member as well as reviews left by previous clients.
With membership starting at just £5 a month they hope that Occasional Assistants will provide a vital tool to get people back to work, whether they have just started a family, reached retirement age or are unable to work in a traditional manner for any other reason.
As well as getting your own dedicated page on their website, a membership package provides vital support and advice for people starting out alone, branded stationery and customer feedback forms.
For more information on becoming a member of Occasional Assistants or if you require any of the services they provide log onto www.occasionalassistants.co.uk, email info@occasionalassistants.co.uk or telephone Sarah on 07974 655210 or Beckie on 07899 682628.
n The first 50 members to join Occasional Assistants, who mention Newbury Business Today, will receive a free six month membership.
