Guests at the Business Live 08 event, held at Ascot Racecourse in July, will be offered tap water, instead of bottled water as Thames Valley business leaders go green.

The Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group - organising the event in partnership with Ten Alps, a world-leading media company, co-founded by Sir Bob Geldof and responsible for the Live 08 concerts - decided to donate the money, saved by not supplying bottled water, to charity.

Paul Briggs, chief executive of the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group, said: "We all have to do our bit for the environment and this seemed a sensible way to make a small difference. The money saved will be donated to the charity WaterAid and we very much hope that guests attending the Business breakfast and VIP lunch will support us."

Business Live 08 will offer a raft of seminars, workshops and panel sessions covering a range of issues relevant to business. Leading figures from politics, media and industry are attending the event, which will also see the presentation of a major award to local business people.
