Staff at Southern Electric’s offices in Pipers Way, Thatcham, have helped parent company SSE (Scottish and Southern Energy) gain a five star rating for lower levels of complaints.
SSE is the only energy company to achieve a five star rating from the statutory consumer champion, Consumer Focus.
The fourth energy complaints league table shows that during the quarter from April to June 2011, SSE achieved a five star rating with the lowest ratio of customer complaints.
The complaint figures are regularly updated by Consumer Focus based on the most comprehensive energy complaints data available, and are published every three months. The companies have been ranked on the number of customer contacts to Consumer Direct, Consumer Focus and the Energy Ombudsman, in relation to their market share during the last quarter. The various types of complaint are weighted to reflect the seriousness of the complaint.
The Spring quarter saw a general decrease in complaints, with particularly low volumes in April. SSE remains the supplier with the least complaints and the only supplier to achieve a five star rating during this time.
