THE customer services manager of Newbury Building Society has retired after 22 years.
Christine Fielding was presented with gifts from her colleagues by the chief executive of the building society, Roland Gardner, at a party to mark the occasion.
She was one of the first employees of the Hungerford branch of the society when it opened in 1986, and moved to the Newbury branch in 2002.
She will be spending her retirement helping to look after her nine grandchildren and redesigning her garden.
She said: "I have always enjoyed mixing with a lovely group of colleagues and meeting customers while working for a local company. I have made some good long term friends over the years who I will always be in contact with."
