PBA Accountants is the new business name for Freeman Baker Associates, whose offices have been a feature of Hungerford High Street for the past 23 years.
PBA Accountants started life as Freeman Baker Associates, a practice founded in 1955 in St Albans. Through growth and natural expansion, the Hungerford office was opened in 1985, headed up by Clive Adolph, who was later joined by Ceri Bissell and Paul Pointer.
So, while the practice has a new name, the partners and staff remain the same team that has served the business community in Berkshire so well.
The new name reflects this - the letters "PBA" confirm their philosophy exactly - Proactive Business Advice, but are also the first letters of the names of the three partners - Pointer, Bissell and Adolph.
Clive Adolph explained: "Our continuing success and expansion, personal recommendations and the strengthening of our local ties have created the opportunity for us to demerge from the other branches of the business. After very careful consideration, with my fellow partners, Ceri and Paul, we felt the time was right to make the change. We firmly believe we can bring a more dynamic and proactive approach to the business.
"We are lucky to have a highly professional and dedicated team here, so we are confident that we can continue to serve our existing clients well, and indeed attract many more."
PBA will continue to offer the same range of friendly, professional and proactive accountancy services that it has done for the last quarter of a century.
Ceri Bissell explained: "Every business needs a team of professionals who provide continuous support and advice, and that's precisely what we are here to do. We can offer a comprehensive range of services from basic bookkeeping, right through to strategic business planning."
Whatever the requirements - whether a new business venture, retirement planning, Self Assessment Tax Returns, or help with tax planning, corporates, auditing, VAT, payroll, business development, computerised accounting systems, expat issues or employment advice - PBA can help.
As well as having broad experience, PBA also has extensive specialised experience in specific business areas, such as the leisure industry, construction, engineering and manufacturing, sole traders and partnerships. This enables the practice to provide finely-tuned, highly focused, services in these sectors.
Paul Pointer added: "Our aim is, and has always been, to work in partnership with our clients, to become a key part of their business and provide a comprehensive, tailored service backed up by expertise and experience.
"Bring us your business ideas, and we'll help you to evaluate them in a constructive and realistic way. You may be confident with your business plan, but it is always useful to get an independent view first, and we aim to get a real insight into your business to help you get where you want to go, and achieve real success."
Clive Adolph concluded: "If you are looking for a team of reliable, approachable, and pro-active accountants, who will do more than just respond to your needs, but work actively with you to help you succeed, then you should contact us to see what we can do for you."
