Castle Windows, the truly local family business renowned for providing and installing the highest quality doors, windows, conservatories and roofline materials at the most competitive prices, recently moved its offices to the site of its operations centre near Woolhampton.
Managing director Oliver Byng explained: "We have been operating from this site in Frouds Lane since 1996, and it was a strategic move to improve the service we offer by moving our sales and support team here, from Newtown in Newbury.
"It has also allowed us to add a new service. We can now fit window and conservatory blinds too and that can be when we install our products, or indeed for anyone who would like blinds to complement their home.
"The slowing of the housing market has meant we are busy. People who are shrewd about the market are choosing to improve the value of their home rather than try and sell in the current climate."
Mr Byng said that conservatories still offered the best value for money in terms of adding to the value of your home. He said: "Increasingly we are seeing our conservatories used for much more than a sun room. Kitchens, dining rooms, games rooms - people want to make the most of them and use them all year round. Many people are adding a conservatory to their property, rather than move house."
Rules and regulations governing the industry are constantly changing and the company is FENSA-registered and the guarantee provided under this scheme for window and door installations can play an important part in the sale of a property.
Castle Windows also keeps up-to-date with new eco-friendly products, for example solar efficient and self-cleaning glass, and offers these at competitive prices.
The company was founded by Michael and Margaret Byng in 1990 and their son Oliver Byng was appointed managing director in 2004. Son-in-law James Knight joined the company in 2005 bringing added strength to the sales force.
The team is further complemented by salesman Barry Rose, surveyor Garry Fairbairn, storeman Owen Lewis, office manager Carolyn McLeod, administrator Sarah Lambert-Gibbs and accountant Vicky Hobbs, from Self Accounting Services, who works at Castle Windows three days a week.
Castle Windows is in its 18th successful year. It has a dedicated team people working in all aspects of the company, has a fleet of more than 20 vans and a turn-over approaching £4m.
Its success has been built firmly on a foundation of honesty and excellent workmanship. It is a name you can rely upon.
