Sterling Industrial Estate: The Car Clinic
8th May 2008
The Car Clinic might be a relative newcomer to the estate, having moved in four years ago. However, the well-known company had been thriving there for more than 20 years and for the last 17 years as a BMW specialist.
It was company founder Steve Brown’s grounding in BMW diagnostics, received at the time when electronic fuel injection first became popular, that led to this focus.
Just before the move from Thatcham, Matthew Weston took on the role of manager then managing director once the business settled in to its new location.
With him at the helm, it left Steve Brown with time to focus on business development, which he assures is most effectively examined from the golf course.
He said: “Despite our initial concerns about uprooting a well established business, the move to Newbury has proved a resounding success. It is delightful to be part of a happy, friendly and helpful community and, along with the other businesses on the Sterling estate, we are continually working to improve the site as a whole and keep the developers at bay.”
He continued: “It is a constant challenge to keep track of the advances in modern technology as the extremely competitive and fast paced vehicle industry moves forward.
“However, we invest heavily in diagnostic equipment and training in order to stay on top of the game. All out apprentice mechanics are currently attending college and several have also recently completed specialised training in diagnostics and airbag technology.
“Due to the nature of the industry, even our most experienced mechanics are constantly learning and improving their skills. This means that the team at The Car Clinic are able to offer the best in terms of knowledge and experience, customer service and reliability.”
