An IT entrepreneur has taken a wealth of experience installing and running computer systems for large corporates and has made that unrivalled level of expertise available to local businesses.
Solutions Shared has been founded by John Clark (pictured), who explained: "I have been in IT for over 17 years, many of those for big corporations handling all aspects of IT infrastructure. I have also worked in web development. That included two-and-half years in Helsinki through Orion UK in Newbury.
"I founded Solutions Shared to offer this kind of expertise to small to medium sized companies that could otherwise not afford this kind of service.
"We offer the range of general IT solutions for companies with five or more people up to more than 100 users. We can install and maintain servers, office networks, PCs, laptops and establish a VPN - a virtual network, something that can allow working from home or remote locations.
"We are not your ‘break-fix' guys who will come and fix your home PC; we have the experience to successfully resolve much bigger systems and ensure companies have the solutions they need."
Another service that Solutions Shared offers involves collaboration, which is fast becoming the buzzword in business with a growing number wanting seamless communication across the board.
"Collaboration is all about sharing documents and information, not just with your teams or departments, but with other suppliers, associates and customers," said Mr Clark. "Being able to work together in this way offers real benefits.
"Microsoft has a range of solutions. Office Groove is great for small teams, say two to 30 people and then you have Microsoft SharePoint, with both a free version and then a higher spec' version and already some companies are even basing their websites on it: both the NHS and Bodyshop use it.
"The interface resembles Outlook but can also be branded and from here everyone a company wants to have access to the system can. From calendars to documents, common forms and so on, it really is a system that will become indispensable to businesses very soon."
Anyone who has had to painstakingly install new software on multiple computers will be delighted to learn that the company offers deployment solutions too, which can make such installations a breeze with the addition of a new computer being straightforward and a broken PC effectively replaced in minutes.
John Clark concluded: "For too long this kind of service has been exclusive to the big companies; we are now offering it to a much wider audience."
