In contrast to the struggling fortunes of many small firms, family business Lola Print, based in Calleva Business Park, Aldermaston, is growing both in terms of client base and staffing levels.
January saw the addition of two new members of staff to the team, to help manage new business and continue to deliver the high levels of customer service for which they are known.
With a background in the retail sector, Sonia Russell, from Andover, joins the team as office manager.  Also, local to the area, Nathan Pryor has returned full time to the business in a production role, having spent some time at Lola Print as a work experience candidate.
Managing director Anna Croucher said: “We are delighted to have both Sonia and Nathan on board. The newly created position of office manager will allow both me and co director Tony da Franca, to focus more on the continued growth and development of the business. Equally, we are thrilled that Nathan enjoyed his work experience here and was keen to join us on a permanent basis”.
Despite the growth of online media, for Lola Print the demand for traditional printing such as posters is not in decline and is “very much alive and well”. In order to produce the most effective print solutions, despite being a small business, Lola Print has made it a policy to keep up with technology and have in the last year invested in high-resolution scanning equipment. Tony da Franca said: “This investment is essential to our goal of offering a one-stop local service, ranging from fine art reproduction and photography to maps and colour plans.”
Having celebrated 25 years in business last year, when asked about the reason for the firm’s success Anna Croucher said: “We attribute it to the fact that during this economic downturn, we have focussed our investment where there is demand and have made a conscious decision not to compromise on service quality.
“As a result, we now offer high resolution scanning and copying to complement our portfolio of wide format print services and this is an area for which we are now getting a reputation as specialists and are duly receiving a growing number of referrals. We are really excited about the year ahead and are confident in the market and believe that we are in a strong position to deliver what our clients need.”
