Established 21 years ago, husband and wife team Keith and Sue Utton, with the support of their loyal and hardworking staff, pride themselves with the high level of customer service and quality workmanship they are able to offer within their body repair business Woodlands Bodyshop and car sales business Woodland Autos.
Keith and Sue Utton feel this success is enhanced by both the high level of loyalty given by their staff and attention to detail adopted in handling customer needs.  “We have a simple ethos that our staff are very much part of our family” said Mr Utton, “and being a husband and wife team allows us to work more closely together to ensure consistency throughout all areas of our business than perhaps might be the case in a business operated by unrelated individuals.”
Woodlands Bodyshop has developed an excellent reputation with its customer base over the years as a top quality body repair business, endorsed by regular letters of thanks from satisfied customers. With a fleet of free courtesy cars, the ability to engage in both private and all insurance work, and offer a five-year guarantee, it offers a complete package for all minor or major body or accident related repairs. As well as achieving the Peugeot Approval Status, it also has the ability to repair all makes and models of vehicles. Mr Utton explained: “The mainstream manufacturers like Audi, BMW, Citroen, Fiat, Ford, Honda, Jaguar, Land Rover, Mercedes, Mini, Nissan, Renault, Skoda, Toyota, Vauxhall, Volkswagen and Volvo make up the majority of the vehicles we will repair on a regular basis. We use the genuine manufacturer parts direct from the local main agents in the repair process, and have direct access to the official recognised repair methods where structural repairs are required.” With car manufacturers constantly using new higher strength steels and alloys in the construction of new cars, the body repair business has to advance its repair methods accordingly.
Woodlands Bodyshop has invested in an inverter spot welder capable of welding the high strength steels of today to the manufacturers’ specification, ensuring safe and reliable repairs. This allows the company to offer a five-year guarantee on all its work
In the quest to keep up with technology Woodlands Bodyshop is in the process of installing a fast cure paint drying system. “This is a very revolutionary piece of equipment which will allow us to bake the new paint applied to the vehicle in the repair process to a hard finish within minutes of the car being sprayed, not only will this greatly improve our ability to speed up the time the customers car will be kept off the road” explained Mrs Utton, “but the quality of the paint finish is vastly superior to that which can be achieved by conventional methods. We shall be investing in staff training on this equipment both at the manufacturers training centre and within our own environment. With the exception of the Porsche main dealer in Reading, we shall be the only local company with this technology.”
Keith and Sue Utton both feel that being a husband and wife team allows them the flexibility to look at new technology and advance decisions within the businesses in a constructive way.
“We feel the freedom of expression is always different within a personal relationship to that of a business relationship, and when the two are combined we feel the decision making process can be well balanced and researched.”
