The Association of Chief Police Officers' Metal Theft Working Group, confirms that metal theft is a “huge problem” which often causes serious disruption and a significant financial outlay for businesses. “Not only are you looking at the cost of long periods of down time and repairing or replacing the electrical cabling or stolen piece of equipment”, says Bob Challis of Zone6 Security, “ very often victims of crime see their insurance premiums pushed up or find it hard to get insurance cover at all.”
