Business Profile

Arlington Arts Centre, on the campus of Mary Hare School, is becoming well recognised for providing a first rate service for a diversity of conferences and corporate events.
“Good location, excellent refreshments, everyone said how wonderful it was. We were most impressed by the level of care shown by the supportive and helpful staff,” was the comment from Southern Education Leadership Training
Situated conveniently just off M4/A34 junction 13, the purpose-built centre offers great flexibility within a stunning rural setting.
Over this last year, Arlington Arts has hosted many large-scale, international conferences, short training courses and corporate meetings for clients such as The Patent Office, British Equine Veterinary Association, Chartered Institute of Marketing, BSHAA, Oxford Brookes, West Berkshire Council and many others.
The centre is also the permanent home for all of St John Ambulance’s training in the Newbury area.
“The food has been fantastic – better than my four star hotel,” commented a MSc Educational Audiology student.
The facilities comprise a fully-equipped 250-seat auditorium, which can also be configured for round table events for up to 50; and three smaller seminar rooms that are ideal for board meetings, break-outs and professional training. Two of these rooms are separated by a temporary wall which is simple to remove – providing a seminar room for up to 50 people.
There are three interactive white boards available – two fixed and one mobile – that are ideal for making highlights and taking notes live onto a PowerPoint presentation, which can then be saved and e-mailed to all delegates. These and all the other technology you will need (projectors, OHPs, flipcharts, etc) come as part of the very competitive £40 day delegate rate.
Newbury MP Richard Benyon said: “The centre’s facilities and easy accessibility means it is going to be a hugely popular venue. I am really excited about its potential for the local, regional and national business community.”
Corporate visitors, trainees and exhibitors have travelled from as far afield as Denmark, Italy and France, as well as from across the UK. One student currently studying on an Oxford Brookes course makes regular visits from Greece. However, these trips are uncomplicated because of the easy access to and from Heathrow and preferential rates with both Excel Executive Chauffeurs and local hotels including Donnington Valley, The Hilton and The Pheasant.
“It’s always good doing training at Arlington Arts Centre as you look after us really well. Your team makes the delegates feel welcome and cared for,” said one Oxford Brookes University tutor
What really sets Arlington Arts Centre apart is the fact that, whether customers are booking a large scale, three-day symposium or just a couple of theatre tickets, the profits go directly to Mary Hare, the national charity for deaf children and young people.
