14-0314C Careers fair_thumbTWO events ensured a careers and training focus in just one day recently when Newbury College hosted the ‘Open Your Mind’ employer event, followed by a Jobs Fair.

The ‘Open Your Kind’ breakfast event featured an introduction by Ian Vickerage, of Imago, an address by Geoff Knappett, of Newbury Building Society, and a presentation by guest speaker Sean Sutclife, of Benchmark, Kintbury.

The seminar focused on the benefits that can be enjoyed by nurturing young talent and porviding progression opportunities.

The event, which was also supported by the Education Business Partnership, West Berkshire Council, Generate UK. and the Newbury News Limited, publishers of Newbury Business Today, was also attended by the Newbury MP Richard Benyon.

Later the same morning, Mr Benyon attended the Jobs Fair also being staged at Newbury College which featured a number of local organisations, businesses and the Armed Forces offering information on a wide variety of skills, jobs and careers.
